Weekly Expiry Schedule
Sensex (BSE)
Sensex weekly expiry Monday. Sensex options trade on BSE with BSE clearing. Interoperability allows settlement on NSE clearing as well. Monthly expiry: last Friday.
Bank Nifty + Finnifty
Highest-volume expiry day for Indian derivatives. Bank Nifty (lot 15) and Finnifty (lot 40) both expire Tuesday. Monthly expiry: last Tuesday.
Midcap Nifty
Midcap Nifty weekly expiry Wednesday. Tracks 15 mid-cap stocks on NSE. Higher volatility and wider spreads than large-cap indices.
Nifty 50
The benchmark Nifty 50 weekly expiry. Highest liquidity, tightest spreads. Monthly expiry: last Thursday. The most-traded options contract in India.
Stock F&O Monthly Expiry
All individual stock F&O contracts on NSE expire on the last Thursday of each month (monthly expiry only — no weekly expiries for stock options). The expiry day for stocks is the same across all sectors.
Note: When the last Thursday is a trading holiday, the previous trading day becomes the expiry date. Check NSE circulars for any exceptional changes to the regular expiry schedule.
